Meet The Returning Rider # 937 Chris Hopper

Chris Hopper is an experienced long distance rider from Cypress TX. 2018Hoka Hey Motorcycle Challenge  is what catapulted him into the world of long distance riding. After completing the 2018 Hoka Hey, finishing in 9th place, Chris jumped head first into the long distance riding world. Having completed almost 100 IBA certified rides, he has averaged over 80,000 miles per year the past 4 years. Just a few of his rides include the BBG (Bun Burner Gold) which is 1500 miles in 24 hrs, 48/10 which is all 48 states in less than 10 days, numerous SS1000 (1000 miles in 24 hrs), 100CCC which is riding coast to coast to coast in less than 100 hrs. He has achieved Platinum Mile Eater status, with enough rides completed to get him to Diamond status once all are certified by the IBA. He has ridden in all 48 states several times and enjoys stopping and seeing the sites the country has to provide. He is also a 2021 Iron Butt Rally Finisher, finishing in 24th place, even after a massive penalty. Planning is not something he does. He prefers the "wing it" method of riding and enjoys zig zagging all over to various POI's for photo ops!

Over time, he has figured out which gear works best for him and systems that allow him to complete these long distance rides. In 2021 he attempted the ride nobody has done before - 100,000 miles in 100 days. He completed this ride with ease while raising money to fight Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. He raised over $100,000 dollars and was able to meet a few of the kids he was riding for. This was the highlight ride of his career so far. We will see what other rides are in store, but you can bet there will be some cool things coming up.
