Meet The Rider Rodger Annicelli # 74

Doing three Hoka Hey Motorcycle Challenges so far and LOVING them all Rodger will keep coming back.  The scenery, the epic riders, going places you have never gone before and the unknown of "where the heck You're going," are just a few of the things he loves.  It ignites the thrill seeker in him. He learned about the Hoka Hey Motorcycle Challenge when he met Jim Red Cloud at Bruce RossMeyer's Harley Davidson. The thought of riding from Key West, FL. to Homer, Alaska sounded amazing and he signed right up. He sold his boat  to ride the first challenge and has no regret.

Taking part in a journey cross country and buying a Harley Davidson, seeing every state except Hawaii on a motorcycle, every province in Canada. Shipping the bike to Chile and experiencing two new countries was amazing too. Family has always been a huge support for Rodger. Back and circulation issues are obstacles he has had to over come but just finds a way to be comfortable and "takes one gas tank at a time." He knows his boundaries and tries to stay within those to "Arrive alive."

His stead has had it's share of obstacles as well. Up in Alaska he lost his transmission, and in 2016 other riders assisted Rodger with a problem he had with his tour pack because admittedly he had it over loaded and had to do some fancy roadside fixing. Thank God for duck tap and zip ties, but that is what HHMC riders do, figure out the problem and go after it.

Rodger feels very comfortable on his bike and doesn't find it difficult to ride long days. "People need to take time for themselves." This challenge is just how he wants to spend his free time. His ride will be dedicated to the memory of his friend and brother Jim Red Cloud.
