Meet The New Rider Billy Wickel #920

Living on the coast in North Carolina Billy enjoys fishing. He started riding motorcycles in the 70's when he was in high school. He learned about the Hoka Hey Motorcycle Challenge 4 yrs. ago after seeing a flyer at the Beach House Harley Davidson. He read up on it and thought it was interesting but never perused it until he was reminded again by another flyer at the same dealer. He believes he could ride forever so the challenge of 10K miles and his desire to be out on the highway is what finally peaked his interest.

He lost his brother Matt in a motorcycle wreck on Beartooth pass in Wyoming so he didn't ride for a while but his love for riding brought him back. He wants to do something a lot bigger then himself. His wife says "GO FOR IT." Preparing for the challenge he found out there was a HHMC rider in his back yard so he has been getting a lot of advice from Tom. The Harley dealership has been helping him as well.

Billy has found the upcoming challenge has affected a lot more than just his motorcycle world. He has found himself focusing on his physical health, finances and how being away from his family will be affected. He finds himself talking to a lot of people about the event he never did for. Equipping the bike specifically for the challenge has it's own challenges. The dealership is almost as excited about the challenge as Billy is. They promised him when he leaves for the road he won't have any issues.

He will be supporting Down Syndrome in memory of his niece Margret Ann at his Hoka Hey 2018 Motorcycle Charity Challenge
