Meet The New Rider Jamie Morrissey # 894

Long distance riding is not new to Jamie after spending 22 days on the road and covering over 15K miles, so the riding part of the Hoka Hey Motorcycle Challenge shouldn't be a problem. He is another of our Canadian challengers.  He heard  about the HHMC  from friends who were considering taking the challenge.  After reaching out to find out more about the event and being welcomed with "open arms" and feeling like part of this family he knew this was a challenge he had to take. He has heard the stories of how the challenge has changed people and the value this ride has to move him forward spiritually.

Preparing for the challenge he has been riding a lot and eating better. With new knees and a new outlook on life and wrapping his mind around sleeping on the ground he is looking forward to giving this a go. Family and friends are huge supporters. The single best piece of advice he has received about how to be successful at riding this challenge is to make sure you have a good thermos so on your last gas stop for the night you can fill it with coffee and be ready to face the morning. Water proof boots are important too.

Personal growth and getting to see nature the way we don't normally take the time to see it are a couple things Jamie is looking forward to. Secondary roads rather then interstates will help him get  back in touch with this beautiful country. "This a ride that earn respect from the riding community."
