My name is Cameron Harbison; I am a combat veteran. The Mission 22 commitment could not be more personal as combat veteran who lost two combat veteran team members to suicide.
In August 2026, I'm participating in the 2026 Hoka Hey Motorcycle Challenge®, a demanding physical and mental endurance challenge ride of 10,000 miles. My goal is to raise awareness and funds for Veteran suicide prevention. I am Rider 1309. You can follow my progress and other riders at Hoka Hey Motorcycle Challenge (active July 31st).
Current data shows an average of 17.6 to 24 veterans died by suicide per day totaling over 6,407 per year. This rate remains significantly higher than the non-veteran population. While the total number of veteran suicides has slightly decreased from previous years' peaks, it remains a critical issue.
Key Findings on Veteran Suicide
- Risk Factors: Firearms are the leading method, involved in 74% of veteran suicides.
- VA Care: Approximately 7 of the 17.6 daily suicides were among veterans who had recently received care from the Veterans Health Administration (VHA).
- Risk Demographic: The rate of suicide is highest among younger veterans (18-34 years old).

Together, we can make a meaningful difference for our veterans through Mission 22, an organization dedicated to supporting the brave individuals who have served our country. With your help, we can empower veterans and their families through essential programs and community engagement.
Your contributions will directly support programs that provide life-changing resources and create a vibrant community of support. Here are a couple of ways your donations will make an impact:
- Funding veteran treatment programs that offer science-backed support for PTS and other service-related issues.
- Building memorials that raise awareness about veteran challenges and honor those who have served.
