Hello my name is Nick Cousin, I’m a retired computer worker with a job title too long to explain. I’ve been riding for about 15 years, and I’ve been to Sturgis a couple of times riding in from Indiana and now North Carolina. Those trips included rides out to Beartooth Pass, Yellowstone and other trips to the major passes in Colorado. The ride in 2025 included a bucket list item, a concert at Red Rocks and then back roads to the Grand Canyon and finished with the Pig Tail in Arkansas.
One of the benefits of the job was it was remote and I could watch YouTube all day! I discovered Sugar Bear’s Adventures of the 2022 Hoka Hey Motorcycle Challenge. This was 2 weeks before the start of the 2024 Hoka Hey and I was hooked watching Ksolo every day, sometimes twice a day. From the start of the challenge I knew I wanted to ride this ride. The possibility of 10,000 miles of back roads with line by line directions sounds fantastic.
The charity I will be supporting is Not Our Native Daughters. This 501c organization’s mission is to help stop violence against Indigenous women. I remember long ago(before Google) hearing that on average 2 women/girls go missing every day from American reservations, with the help of Google a more accurate number is 15 per day. While riding through the Navajo reservation last year I saw numerous billboards of missing women/young girls. Please check the website to learn more about this organization that is trying to make a difference.
